General Information
IMPACT (Increased Mastery and Professional Application of Coaching Theory)
- It is now required that all coaches for every USAV junior's team attend an IMPACT training course and become IMPACT Certified (junior age asst. coaches included). This requirement helps cover liability issues for the Regions, Junior Clubs, Junior Teams and Junior Coaches.
- Preferably coaches and assistant coaches should be certified before their first practices.
- DEADLINE - for certification is February 15th or 6 weeks after registering.
- High School coaching certifications will NOT be accepted to fulfill this requirement.
- If you have attended a clinic in past years, this will meet the requirement.
Iowa Region IMPACT Webinars
The Region will be setting up free classroom IMPACT clinics for the 2012/13 season as the high school season winds down. Please check this page regularly for updates. The region classes will be around four hours in length.
Iowa Region Webinars will time the computer use, questions and polls will be asked during the clinic to ensure that all attendees are really at their computers. We will not give certification if there is any doubt on attendance stats issued by the webinar computer service.
USAV does offers Webinar IMPACT classes for ~$50. The webinar classes are often scheduled for two hours on two dates.

As of Feb. 1, 2013, no further IMPACT classroom clinic will be held this seaosn.
To set up an IMPACT Clinic you will need a site (room/ classroom/ cafeteria/ church hall) and several dates that might work.

IMPACT Clinic Dates
Wednesday Feb 20- 6-10pm Webinar:
$25 per person bring Checks to Iowa Region or exact cash. Crawford Building 415 Stanton Ave, Ames, IA
Webinar On-Demand through USAVolleyball:
This clinic is taken in your own home--so you will need your computer and internet access. $50 to Iowa Region Members.
Follow this link to register for this on-demand option. This clinic is 6 hours in length and you can start/stop as your schedule allows. There is a required test at the conclusion.

All coaches and assistant coaches regarless of age need to have attended an IMPACT clinic. You are only required to attend the clinic once, it does not need to be renewed at this time. You can check you membership card for IMPACT or CAP certification if you cannot remember.The SOONER the better to get all the risk management information, how to best convey instruction and feedback, how to set up drills and practices. Don't waste a minute of learning time for you or your athletes.
