Club Philosophies/Guidelines:
- · Each player attending tryouts needs to follow the Iowa Region Volleyball tryout procedure listed on the back and bring all paperwork plus $10, checks payable to Johnston Volleyball Club, to the tryout!
- · Club fees are $350 for 13s – 18s and $150 for the 12s program, payable at the November 18, parent and player meeting.
- · Several USAV teams (18 & Under, 16s, 14s, 12s) will be formed.
- · We attempt to put approximately 8 players on a team.
WE WILL LIMIT THE NUMBER OF TEAMS TO 2 PER AGE DIVISION FOR BRACKETS 14s AND ABOVE! The 12s and 13s will have unlimited teams.
- · Most teams practice 2 nights/week on Sunday, Monday or Thursday evenings, December through the end of March. We determine the practice nights once the tryouts are complete and we know the number of teams involved.
- · We do not divide into teams by skill level until the 15s (and above) age group.
- · Ages 15s and above must play in a school volleyball program to be considered for the Johnston Volleyball Club.
- · Each team will play in 7 weekend tournaments (exception 12s) and may culminate the season by playing in Regionals (at Drake University in April).
- · The 12s teams will have round-robin play every Sunday afternoon from 1:00 - 6:00 P.M. (January and February) at the Johnston High School small gym against other local area teams. Last year we had 16 teams in our Sunday league.
- · All players are required to attend the referee (yearly) and scorekeeping (every other year) clinics. There will be a clinic held at Johnston High School on December 2.
- · All practices and tryouts will be CLOSED for the 2007/2008 Club Season. If you would like to arrange a time to attend a practice, please contact the coach.
- · A parent & player meeting and uniform sizing will be held on November 18 the Johnston High School cafeteria at the following times:
