IMPACT Certification (Coaching Certification)
All Coaches AND Assistant Coaches on a Junior Roster MUST have taken an IMPACT coaches clinic.
This is a National Requirement that has been mandated by our Insurance Carrier. Coaches and Assistant Coaches that do not take this class will not be defended by the Insurance Carrier if a lawsuit is filed against the coach.
It is preferable to take the class early in the Season.
You have until Feb 29th to fulfill this requirement. After that date the Junior Coaches and Assistant Coaches will not be allowed to be on the team bench at tournaments. Tournament Directors will be getting a list of coaches that are IMPACT certified so that they may check the teams after the Feb 29th date.- (2008 date extended to March 8th)
High school coaching certifications will not be accepted to fulfill this requirement. Coaches must attend an IMPACT Clinic or be CAP I or CAP II certified to meet this requirement. If you have attended a clinic in past years this will meet the requirement.
The National Regions Operation Division and the Youth and Junior Volleyball Division have mandated that all coaches for every USAV juniors team be IMPACT Certified. This requirement was voted in to help cover liability issues for the Regions, Junior Clubs, Junior Teams and Junior Coaches.
To Set Up an IMPACT Clinic in your Area call the Region Office with a site (room/ classroom/ cafeteria/ church hall) and several dates that might work. 515-727-1860 or email office.mail@iavbreg.org
Clinics last 4 hours.
IMPACT manuals will be available to purchase at the clinic for $9. Please bring correct change or check made out to the "Iowa Region".
