We are excited to announce your clinician this year is Marcus Santos:

A native of Sao Paulo, Brazil, Dos Santos spent a year as a volunteer assistant coach at Penn State University for Women's Volleyball.  While at PSU, he was in charge of the team's outside hitters and provided scouting reports on opponents for one of the premier volleyball programs in the country.

In 2017, Dos Santos was a volunteer coach for the Brazilian Beach National Team Agatha Rippel/Eduarda (Duda) Lisboa during the FIVB 5 Star Major in Fort Lauderdale. They won second place and knocked Kerry Walsh/April Ross out of the competition.

While a coach for Eckerd College, the team was the runner-up in the 2018 AVCA division two small college championships as a head beach volleyball. Eckerd's beach volleyball team had the best beach volleyball program season in history with a record of 17-6. The team won against D1 teams such as Florida Gulf Coast University, Jacksonville University and Morehead State University.

Eckerd's top 1 pair was ranked the #3 pair in NCAA D1 by CollegeBeachVB.com
Eckerd's #1 team of Paula Hoffmann/Kaitlyn Sibson also received that AVCA pair of the week award (week of April 10th).

As an assistant indoor coach at Eckerd, the team was a NCAA national championship participant.

Dos Santos was a coach for Optimum Beach, run by AVP and NVL pro player Priscilla Piantadosi-Lima, where he coached the women's pro group.

Dos Santos also helped USAV Beach with HP tryouts.

Dos Santos entered the coaching ranks after a successful playing career at Indiana-Purdue University Fort Wayne, spending two seasons there under Hall of Fame coach Arnie Ball.  Previously, he played one season at both Mercyhurst College and Missouri Valley College, helping lead the latter to a third-place finish at the NAIA National Tournament.

In addition to his indoor expertise, Dos Santos brings professional playing experience on the beach volleyball circuit.  He has competed in the National Volleyball League and Brazilian Beach National Tour.  He notched a professional win at the AVP Next Tournament in Chicago and placed second at the NVL Rize event in Delray Beach, Florida.
